Tree on power lines causes power outage for 2,500 in Arlandria, Arlington neighborhoods

About 2,500 homes lost power Monday morning (Sept. 14) in the city’s Arlandria neighborhood and in Arlington’s Long Branch Creek and Arlington Ridge neighborhoods.

The outage was reported around 11 a.m, and was caused by a fallen tree on power lines, according to Dominion Energy.  Dominion Energy crews were on scene to assess damage.

The electric utility resolved all Arlandria outages before 3 p.m., according to the utility’s outage map. There are also 80 additional customers around Arlandria experiencing outages due to an unspecified cause.
